MISSION STATEMENT
I originally had the idea to start Afrovital in 2018 when I was in my 2nd year at the University of Leicester. I realised that there wasn’t enough focus on beauty products that catered to the black community.
I was raised by my mother who managed a hair salon in Ireland, this subconsciously fuelled my passion for afro hair. I subsequently took on the responsibility of teaching myself how to groom my hair and I strive to encourage and teach other young black men who may or may not have a father figure present how to do the same, whilst promoting Afrocentrism.
The BLM movement of 2020 reignited my passion for Afrocentrism. This is because I believe that some of the hatred and violence faced by the black community stems from a lack of understanding of Afrocentric beauty and features. One of Afrovital’s core aim is to improve the perception of black standards whilst maintaining ones own natural beauty and self love.
Afrovital, promoting and enhancing Afrocentric beauty to the world.
