Carrier Oils and Essential Oils for Black Men Beard Growth

Black men’s beards can be hard to groom and manage due to coarse and curly hair texture. This makes it important to take time to carefully select the right mixture that can moisturise, soften, and nourish your beard.


Beard oils are made up of two primary ingredients which are carrier oils and essential oils. Carrier oils can be applied directly to your skin which in return provide a variety of health benefits for your beard hair. These oils are usually extracted from plants, kernels, and nuts.


Essential oils play a vital role in hair growth and wellness of hair. However, with essential oils you must carefully find a combination mixture that is right for you or you may have some side effects. These side affects can typically be things like skin or scalp irritation. Therefore, it is important to dilute your essential oils with carrier oils because they are more soothing for your skin.


Carrier Oils

Jojoba Oil – Contains essential nutrients such as protein vitamins, and minerals. Leaving your hair soft and shiny. Jojoba oil also does not irritate your skin, it is light weight and enters your skin fast.


Hemp seed oil – Hemp is a member of the Cannabis sativa species plant which contains omega-3, omega-6 and antioxidants for hair. Prevents hair breakage and stimulates hair growth.


Castor oil – Perfect lubrication for your beards making it look shiny and soft. It supports hair growth, and it is also kind to your skin with no side effects such as skin irritation.


Avocado oil – Contains a few antibacterial properties and Vitamin E. It is extraordinarily rich in fatty acids such as Biotin. Avocado oil can penetrate the hair scalp without leaving your beard hair greasy or stiff. Prevents hair from breaking or being damaged.


Coconut oil – It prevents hair from damaging or breaking by providing basic nutrients to hair follicles. and prevents Beard-druff


Grapeseed oil – Packed with antioxidants, beta-carotene, oleic acid, palmitic acid, stearic acid, omega- 6 fatty acids and linoleic acid which can all contribute to healthy hair follicles and strands. Ideal for hair that is dry and brittle and incredibly good for fighting against hair loss.
